TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Once enrolled into the driving school you are bound in agreement to the terms and conditions of the driving school.

Read our terms and conditions below as these are important towards your tuition with us. These terms are for your own benefit, and they are there to safeguard both you and the driving school.

DRIVING LICENCE

  • Pupils must ensure that they are holders of a valid current Driving Licence. This must be produced on the first lesson.

  • An eyesight test will be undertaken on the first lesson. It is the pupil’s responsibility to wear their spectacles or contact lenses if they are required.

  • The instructor must be informed of any points, endorsement, bans, convictions or restrictions of any kind on pupils’ licences.

  • Pupils whilst driving are responsible by law for any motoring offences including speeding & all related fines.

FITNESS TO DRIVE

  • It is the pupil’s responsibility to ensure they’re fit to drive and he/she must inform the instructor of any medical condition, disability or injury that may affect their ability or entitlement to drive.

  • Pupils must ensure that they do not drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs – some medication drugs like hay fever remedies may cause drowsiness.

  • Pupils must ensure that they do not book driving lessons at a time that they are likely to be tired, stressed or otherwise distracted.

  • In the interests of comfort and safety, pupils are strongly advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear for their lessons.

  • Foul or abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of a lesson and forfeiture of money paid.

POSTPONEMENT OF LESSONS BY THE PUPIL

  • 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation or postponement of a lesson. Failure to give 24 hours’ notice will incur a £25 late notice fine to be paid as the instructor may not be able to find a replacement.

  • Lessons cancelled with less than 4 hours notice or no show from the learner will need to be paid for in full (duration of lesson booked).

  • If the learner is more than 15 minutes late for a lesson without notifying the instructor, then the lesson will be treated as a no show on the pupil’s part.

POSTPONEMENT OF LESSONS BY THE INSTRUCTOR

  • If, due to vehicle breakdown or other emergency, a lesson must be postponed at short notice, an alternative lesson will be scheduled.

  • Any cancellation by the driving school due to mechanical fault or illness will be communicated to any pupil at the earliest opportunity.

  • If the instructor is not able to facilitate a driving test due to break down or illness, the driving school will pay for the pupil to book another test for a later date.

  • Driving tests take priority over lessons. A lesson booked may have to be rearranged if the instructor receives late notice of a test at approximately the same time.

  • The driving instructor will make every effort to be punctual, but traffic conditions sometimes make this impossible. If a lesson needs to start late, it will end late accordingly.

DRIVING TESTS

  • In the interests of road safety, the right is reserved to withdraw use of a car for test use to pupils not deemed to be at test standard. In most circumstances, use of the vehicle will be dependent upon passing a mock driving test marked to the same standards as the DVSA Practical Test.

  • Driving tests should not be booked without first checking the availability of the instructor and car.

  • Please make sure you quote your instructor’s ADI number. Please request this from your instructor.

  • Instructors have no control over driving tests being cancelled by the DVSA, however, pupils may be able to claim a refund of lessons fees from the DVSA, when tests are cancelled at short notice. This will not include adverse weather conditions.

PAYMENT OF LESSON

  • Lessons must be paid for in advance or on the day of the lesson (first lesson if buying a bundle).

  • Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer. Transfer details will be provided on confirmation of booking.

  • Pupils will be refund for prepaid lessons or any remaining hours from bundles purchased (worked out using purchased price) on request. Please allow up to 5 working days to receive payment.

  • All prepaid or bundle lessons must be used within a 12-month period of initial payment date. If these lessons are not used, they will be lost unless prior agreement has been made directly with your instructor.

YOU AND YOUR INSTRUCTOR

  • Your instructor is self-employed.

  • The contract for driving tuition is solely between you and your designated instructor.

  • You and your instructor are responsible for arranging times, location, and duration of lessons.

  • All payments are between you and your instructor.

  • Any changes to location, time, or duration, must be notified with a minimum 24-hour notice prior to the lesson start time.
